A Cheat Sheet for Counting Your Macros
Does the phrase “counting your macros” feel intimidating or just time consuming? I want to bring you 10 simple tips to use when you begin counting macros.
1) Do your research. It is not as intimidating as it seems- trust me! I had NO CLUE what a macro was until I started the FASTer Way. With a little bit or practice, its smooth sailing.
2) Choose go-to meals. When you have meals easily accessible it makes all the difference.
3) Plan vs. Prep. Make and actual plan of exactly what you will be eating so there is no question. I start with dinner & plan my day around that!
4) Find an app that helps you track. My go to is My Fitness Pal - no need for the paid version!
5) Let your calories be your guide for the day - this simply tells you if you’re eating ENOUGH!
6) Its all about the balance friends! If you have a glass of wine or a slice of pizza you won’t die :)
7) Break up your time into small checkpoints - take inventory throughout the day to ensure you’re still on track! Or do like I do - plan a day in advance!
8) Progress over perfection. You will get to the point where this is second nature but we all have to learn how it works first
9) Quantity matters - sometimes 1tbsp of peanut butter vs. 2tbsp makes ALL the difference
10) Find FREEDOM. Do not be a slave to perfection! Life happens!
